My Blueberry Nights Soundtrack

MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS is the debut English language film from celebrated Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai, starring Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weitz. It also marks the acting debut of Norah Jones, playing a starry eyed drifter who takes a road trip across America in pursuit of emotional healing and self-discovery, meeting an assortment of influential characters along the way. Jazz music is a common theme in Wai's films and MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS is no exception. The soundtrack features the soulful jazz, blues and acoustic folk music of Cat Power, Cassandra Wilson, Ry Cooder, Amos Lee, Otis Redding and others, which culminate to form a romantic, smoky-corner-bar sense of mood throughout the album. Of note is Jones' "The Story," a piece that she composed while filming.
