Fado: Exquisite Passion

Over the last few years, Narada has emerged as one of the more exciting purveyors of world music. FADO: EXQUISITE PASSION shows their willingness to expand their repertoire in new directions and explore lesser-known traditions from around the globe. The fado has its roots in Portugal. Set to light, Spanish-influenced rhythms and moody guitar strumming, the music's centerpiece is the enraptured vocals of the performing artist.

The music is meant to convey deep emotion and express profound longing and melancholy. This compilation features one of the most infamous fado singers of all time - the late Amalia Rodrigues, as well as Cristina Branco, Mariza and Mafalda Arnauth.
